A building block with an increased thermal insulation capacity including a core structural body made of lightweight concrete, characterized in that thermal insulation inserts (2) made of a material with a thermal conductivity of at most half the material conductivity (λ) of the core structural body (1)and that they are arranged in several rows in such a way that the core structural body (1) completely surrounds the thermal insulation inserts (2) with the exception of the lateral side edges with respect to the nominal installation position of the core stuctural body (1). Its application also satisfies the thermal and static requirements of passive houses at optimal costs, eliminating the possibility of mold contamination between the thermal insulation layer and the wall structure, as well as too thick walls.
