Erika Szép specialises in the protection of intellectual property rights and in particular in trademark law. She has extensive experience in trademark consulting, trademark prosecution-, opposition- and cancellation proceedings, as well as in conducting trademark searches. She is a regular speaker at conferences and higher education institutions in Hungary, where her presentations focus primarily on trademark law matters.

Prior to joining Danubia Patent and Law Office in May 2019, Erika had worked for the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office between 1996 and 2018, initially as a trademark examiner and then later as Deputy Head of the National Trademark Department of the Trademark and Design Division, from which she retired as Head of Department.

Erika graduated from Esztergom Teacher Training College as a primary school teacher.

She has received ministerial recognition and been awarded the Commemorative Medal of Hungary for her work and achievements in intellectual property rights protection.
